Its time to come to the party.
I ran into an old, very wise friend last week, my rat buddy, Bodhi. Bodhi spends about three-hours-a-day in deep meditation. I had just come from a NMT session to treat a hellacious, upper respiratory nightmare. NMT is a fascinating healing modality that grew out of another method called, “Bioset.” Its close to vibrational or energetic medicine. Essentially, the NMT practitioner uses a combination of radionics and muscle testing to quickly determine the energetic causes of a particular condition. What they discover are these things they call “pathways.” They then go about re-setting and clearing the pathways. My practitioner also uses acupuncture and “The Beamer” a small pad that resembles a heating pad, but instead of emitting heat, it stimulates healing in specific areas. Its big in Europe, getting bigger here.
Anyway, one of the pathways that showed up for me, was “grief.” I was told to read a series of keywords while being cleared. It was powerful. I could see my life over the past two years evoked in the words. A sense of mourning and loss; the death of my father, the end of my marriage, the news that my son would have a step-father.
For years, I simply buried feelings by layering experiences on top of them, convincing myself that they were important, valid and essential to my ongoing actualization. But when I stopped drinking in July, something started cracking. The dam wall of denial was giving way. After I read those words, it broke, halfway between my practitioners office and Whole Foods.
I got it together, went into Whole Foods and that’s where I ran into Bodhi. I’ve known him since 1996. I remember him though from 1988 when I went to a channeling at Bel Marin Keys.
Back in 1996, we were working on something that had to do with raves in England, altered states, you get my drift. It didn’t pan out (Thank God) but I had one of the most powerful and synchronistic experiences with him of all time.
We were waiting around in my van for “the man” as in the Lou Reed sang, “Waiting For My Man.” We were parked behind the mega-health food store, Rainbow Market and Bodhi was asking me about Mercury Retrograde. It was MR in Gemini at that time. He wanted to know how it could manifest. I began to pontificate about travel, especially local travel, people getting frustrated, hurried, distracted, getting into accidents, etc. And right on cue, we witnessed a small, japanese car, take on a bread truck trying to load into Rainbow. Cue screeching tires, cure burning rubber smell, cue smashing glass, cue slamming of metal; Action!!! I turned, looked at Bodhi and said, “Just like that.”
Lesson over, we started the van and left.
I have always had this potently synched up connection with him. Our orbits are infrequent, but when they cross, something snaps, crackles and pops. We talked for a little bit and very quickly got into the male/female dynamic. He immediately zeroed in on the target; Men’s biggest issue is grief. For women, its anger. We then kicked around how long women in general will be angry and whether its an energy that they have overused and overplayed. Anger, like anything can be addictive. I wondered about how at some point, whether anger has become institutionalized for women and morphed into a right, a badge of honor to be whipped out and up. Scan any contemporary ad and you’ll see the modern woman sticking it to their bumbling and clueless mate. Madison Avenue can feel your wrath. Oh yes they can.
I began to think about this in the context of awakening. I circled around the invisible barbed wire fences of separation. I looked at the social structures of divide and conquer, the fragmentation of nearly every aspect of our interrelated web of life on the plane of the 3rd dimension and how easily we are led around by our noses due to the reenactment of socialized trauma, again and again and again, like a hellish loop tape; “Samsara Gone Wild!” How could we ever break through this highly manipulated and insidious matrix of control? I kept returning to the male/female dynamic and how wounded, ragged and weary it is. I saw how this very basic configuration (yet subtly dynamic and complex) is the gateway to our mystery and a deeply integrative node that we must repair if we as a culture are to be free and unassailable to the signals of distress, disease and disassociation beamed into our hearts and minds from the moment we breath.
The synthetic solution appears to be the manipulated unisex, transgenic, transgendered, transhuman. Can you say, “Singularity?” But its almost too easy. Its the alchemical marriage taking place down at Dr. Frankenstein’s cottage on the lake. Its like there is a simultaneous signal of throwing in the towel, that this “old” thing just isn’t working anymore and a truly aggressive, even angry, bordering on nihilistic urge to destroy all familiar touch points in our hearts and souls. Last week, I was on Twitter and I saw a young woman, a very popular young woman I might add, throw down the following tweet; “Love is for whores.” We have now entered the Orwellian realm of emoting.
Mars is in Virgo (retrograde). Venus in Pisces. Here we have an opposition that can provide us with some real fuel to explore, transform and heal this deeply distorted and bloody gap between the sexes. Mars in Virgo plays the role of the male principle here, even though Virgo is female/Earth. Venus in Pisces is pure feminine–an ocean of compassion and forgiveness. Mars in Virgo retro invites introspection, going back, going within, going to places that hurt. Men have a unique opportunity to explore their grief during this cycle. Where were you betrayed? Left behind? What did you give up in order to be loved, then allowed to have sex and thus feel accepted? How did you morph, mutate and twist into some knotted up creature that doesn’t even resemble who you are in your soul, just to become relevant on a planet run by psychopaths?
I feel like I am, after 50 years, really just understanding and unraveling my relationship with women thanks to Saturn on my Venus in Libra. Its dovetailed with my time spent with my mother, in the aftermath of my fathers death. Its been a very sobering experience to say the least, coming to a very clear understanding that I am not the type of progeny she would have dialed up from a Sears catalog. But its been incredibly meaningful as well.
With Venus in Pisces, women have a unique opportunity to forgive, especially as it opposes demanding and borderline anal Mars in Virgo. We’re in a time where no healing act should ever be deemed insignificant. Don’t underestimate your ability to impact the big picture by really resolving and cleansing your own heart.
We stand at the apex of history, where monolithic social forces seek to rip, uproot and crumble our tenuous connections with each other, nature and spirit. The most basic and fundamental strategy to defend against such tyranny is to mend the most basic, important and profound relationship we have; between man and woman. Grieve and forgive.

May 2nd Chakra
“If there’s a bustle in your hedgerow, don’t be alarmed now It’s just a spring clean, for the May queen.” It’s May 2nd and if your hedgerow isn’t bustling by now, the day after May Day, well, we’ll have a little something for you tonight on Free Association Radio (FAR) to get up, bustled and out. Live, from “The Derty South,” “The ATL,” it”ll be “The May Queen” herself, Alexyss K. Tylor. From 8PM PDT, for two hours we’ll be getting down with the whole concept of sacred sexuality and of course, Miss. Tylor’s favorite subject, “Vagina Power.” The videos from her cable access shows with her mother are legendary for their frankness, visceral details, uncommon knowledge and of course humor. most of which is intentional (dick’ll make you slap somebody!).
Truth, Discovery, Balance And Purity In Pursuit Of Eros And Psyche
When sifting through the slew of videos she’s made and the remnants of her website, I’ve been trying to piece together a cogent picture of Miss. Tylor (they call people Miss in the the south). Who or what is she? Is she culturally relevant? Dangerous? Or just a sensationalist sideshow in the spiritual marketplace? When we look at her chart it’s comprised of the personal moving towards transpersonal sector of her chart. Her early Sun in Sag, which rises right around the same time as Thanksgiving is frank in the way that Sag’s are naturally at ease with. In fact, some might say she’s too honest. She shares her birthday with Jimi Hendrix, Bruce Lee and Robyn Givens. Of course, Robyn told a little too much truth the night she went on national TV with then husband, Mike Tyson, but what’s a little sensationalizing amongst a married couple? In any case, those marked by this birthdate have a unique relationship to expressing themselves in a deeply authentic fashion. “The Secret Language Of Birthdays” calls it “The Day Of Electrifying Excitement.” They are marked by their quick, impulsive, and intuitive outlook and experience of life. Her Moon and Venus are both in Libra and here is where we see the obvious desire and need to battle the strength and will of the sexes on both on an internal and external level. When she talks about the power of a penis, you can sense that while she is doing her best to have women understand the psychological and emotional impact of being sublimely penetrated, she is also warning them of the inherent dangers of becoming “dickmatized” an expression she often uses when women lose their minds and will over the sexual act. So then she swings back in the other direction, looking to reclaim the power in this eternal battle between the sexes. Her strategy has been to promote “Vagina Power,” reminding women of their inherent power as goddesses, sublime chalices of ecstatic experience and liquid light. And so it goes; the pit and the pendulum, ever swinging across the bed of space and time. In the midst of this timeless dance, there she is, straddling the delight of the experience, yet desiring to remain in control. Can it be done? Her natal Mars in Capricorn thinks so. It’s earthy, enduring and exalted. It climbs to the top and stays there. It trines her natal Pluto in Virgo and when Mars and Pluto saddle up together, especially in Earth signs, it’s all second and first chakras, grinding and grating, firing off the sparks of life, lighting the cauldron at the base of the spine. Mars trine Pluto promotes the exploration of natural tantra.
Jupiter, the planet of expansion is in the mostly puritanical sign of Virgo. Here is where we can see her desire to transform the act of getting ones world rocked into an experience that resonates with higher perceptions and more refined feelings. Someone with Jupiter in Virgo always brings it back to the most healthy baseline they can, no matter what it is. Based on this and the other planets in her chart, what she’s really up to is a form of sexual healing.
Inquiring Minds Need To Know
It might all be a moot point if her Mercury were in Capricorn or Libra. She might be driven by the need to make money or simply understand the dynamic of relationships, but with her Mercury in Scorpio, she needs to know not just what’s behind the veil, but beneath the zipper. Understanding sexual motivation and giving language to it is indicative of Mercury in Scorpio. It gives the native a sort of x-ray vision into the affairs of men and women. Motivations are plunged and revealed upon deeper review. Sharing them in such explicit detail is more of a function of her Sag Sun than anything else. Mercury also sextiles her natal Pluto, giving her the secret word to hidden worlds, slipping past taboo, sailing right by convention. Here is where her motivation to understand the dark, natural forces of sexuality and creation drive her. Saturn in Aries is an interesting alignment as it is symbolic of controlling or harnessing the male principle (Aries). It also desires to put a seal of timeless wisdom on it. Right now, she is going through a Saturn/Saturn opposition and it could mean anything to a backlash from either sex regarding her ideas or possibly the out and out subjugation of her concepts by the patriarchy itself. According to Miss, Tylor, her website had been hacked recently. But Saturn opposes Neptune in her chart. The spiritual ideal struggles for dominance over worldly gratification and vice versa. Somewhere inside her, her very own struggle with power is being played out. But with her True Node in Aries, I think we know how this will ultimately be resolved-she’ll eventually be seen as a pioneer in her field.
Part Millie Jackson, part Margot Anand, part Nefertiti, all entertainment, she’s Alexyss K. Tylor and she’ll be on FAR tonight. Don’t miss it.

Tristan and Isolde re-incarnate during Saturn in Libra.
This weekend is shaping up to be one of the most potent, multi-disciplinarian and potentially prophetic weekends in quite sometime. It starts off with Friday the 13th. Here is a link to my piece around the significance of this day, especially as it relates to the Knights Templars and Masons. It’s quickly followed by the exact square between Pluto and Saturn as well as the sixth night (Baktun cycle) of The Mayan calendar, as interpreted by Carl Calleman. He has November 15th circled off on his version of the calendar’s interpretation as being a major trigger point, which will basically send us into the linear accelerator of change; The CERN of the collective soul, up through March 8th, 2011, which would then trigger the last 260 day cycle, as Calleman sees it. In essence, we’re about to shoot the rapids of transformation, but that is still almost a week off and we need to revisit an earlier series of posts about the re-calibration and re-balancing of the male/female dynamic.
My last two posts on the subject (here and here) were met with mostly positive response, some criticism and some questions. In the series of comments that followed the two posts, I think we sorted through some of the confusion and grey areas. In this final edition, we’ll look at the male/female dynamic from mytho-poetic perspective, how it relates to the scientific breakdown of the bi-cameral spirit and the impact of people born under the influence of Pluto in Libra.
Robert Johnson wrote a series of short, yet brilliant works on the male/female dynamic from the Jungian perspective. The books, “He,” “She” and “We” look at the archetypal power of relating as a romantic narrative, using the tale of “Tristan” and “Isolde” as the ultimate, tragic model for how we relate as men and women. To understand this, we must have some perspective and insight into the age of romance.
The Birth Of The Courtier
The age of romance took place mostly during the period of the crusades (10-1100′s), when writers like Chretien de Troyes composed tales for ladies of the court. In De Troyes case, it was Marie Of France, Countess of Champagne, daughter of Eleanor of Aquitane. He was a courtier and although he is often credited for being the father of the modern novel, it was he and others like him, that titilated and entertained the ladies of the court while their husbands were off slaughtering Saracens in the name of Christ, while plundering the vaults of the holy land, uncovering Solomonic secrets that would allow them to eventually rival the churches power. During this period, when the quote-un-quote “real men” were away, doing “God’s” work, the eunuch’s, monks and poets serviced the ladies of the courts and it is here, where we begin to develop the whole notion or romantic or “courtly love.” It was courtly because it was the upper ranks of the nobility, which had idle time on their hands to create a dream world where love became something of a luxury. The lower classes mind you, were also busy servicing the ladies of the courts as well, but mostly by toiling in fields and farms to provide food or taxes. Let’s just say that their love was far less glamorous and courtship usually centered around heifers and quilts, both literally and figuratively. Read the rest of this entry »
