I love Gemini. Since most of my 7th house is Gemini, I have always been attracted to Gem women or women with Gem Moon, for better or worse. Usually both. Usually both at the same time. But more than the Gemini Anima, it’s the overall vibe. I’m fascinated by twins, dopplegangers and clones. I find it interesting that the uber-strange and creepy, Olsen twins are Gemini. The six degrees of Olsen and Gemini an also apply here. The Olsen twins of course, made their mark and fortunes on “Full House” which starred Dave Coulier, who would later go on to date Alanis Morrisette, Gemini, who would make her mark and her fortune, screaming about how much she wanted to castrate Dave Coulier in her hit song, “Ironic.” Of course, Morrisette was a child star in her own native Canada, much like “The Olsen Twins.” Hmmmm? It’s that crazy, intertwined and knotted world of strange attraction that makes Gemini so fascinating. Let’s look at another, totally strange example.

Most people know Gemini, Chuck Barris (June 3) as the wild and whacked out host of “The Gong Show.” Prior to “The Gong Show,” he was the godfather of game shows, giving us rich cultural institutions like, “The Newlywed Show” and “The Dating Game.” But Chuck also had a very odd and disconcerting habit of telling people that he was also a hired killer, an assassin for The CIA. In fact, they even made a dark and pretty hilarious film about it, Confessions Of A Dangerous Mind starring Sam Rockwell as Chuck Barris and George Clooney as his CIA contact. Sharing the same June 3 birthday as Barris is Anderson Cooper, the young and dashing first man of cable news. Anderson of course is the son of jean queen, Gloria Vanderbilt. His involvement with The CIA is far from secret, even pop culture sites like Radar have written about it. Chuck Barris/Anderson Cooper, Geminspy. That’s the strangeness that abounds in the sign.

On a slightly more personal note, I have a really good friend that has been through some rough patches in his life. He and his brother were adopted at the age of two after an event that brought child and family services into the picture. I’ll skip the details, but trust me, his adoption was for the better. In his mind, he always had two brothers; one that got adopted out with him (now deceased) the other that got left behind. He never had much contact with that brother, since said brother has been sadly unable to conduct his life without the aid of alcohol. The parents that adopted him had also passed. In his mind, he was alone–or so he thought. Just as transiting Venus in Cancer was about to move into his progressed third house (brothers and sisters) and trine progressed Chiron in Pisces at the end of his twelfth house, out of nowhere, a woman with the last name of “Fisher” connected with him through Facebook to tell him that she was his half sister and that he had four other half siblings that he did not know about. That’s a total of five new people that just showed up! In his progressed 12th house, shared by Aries and Pisces, there’s a veritable family in there. Yep, 1-2-3-4-5, five planets, five new half-sibs.

Miss Fisher (Pisces/Chiron) made the call, but it happened when transiting Uranus moved into Aries and conjuncted his progressed Mercury in Aries, 1 degree. Are you following me here? In the month of Gemini, sisters and bros, he just found out that he has a whole new tribe out there. Gemini is high strangeness indeed. I’m happy for him and hope that somewhere in the mix of five new souls entering into his world, that his aloneness will be somewhat abated and a small part of himself can be put back into place.

Of course, we’ve got this great big, freaking cross coming up at month’s end, but as we get closer, I’ll have more details for each sign

kim-jong-il-in-team-americaTake me to your spiritual leaders.

Day thirty-five and The Gulf is still bleeding. Oil and methane are now co-mingling with other substances, perhaps sulfur, iron oxide. These are not elements of a deep sea oil field, but an undersea volcano. The spew is beyond toxic–it’s flat out poisonous. The Earth’s blood is running from a gashed artery that apparently cannot be tied off. Birds, fish, coral, brine, plankton, plants, people all feel the stain of BP’s egregious malfeasance as it washes upon the shores of their lives, with no end in sight for their hell. Meanwhile, Barack Obama will be in San Francisco tomorrow night, ironically, with Barbara Boxer, the head of the “Environment and Utilities” committee. San Francisco is not kind to progressives that have turned. I’m sure there will be a significant turnout, vociferously reminding the president of his progressive roots. Should be very interesting to say the least.

Did you hear what visionary leader Barbara Marx Hubbard had to say about “The Gulf” while the administration is stalling and hand wringing and stomping their feet at BP? What about Deepak Chopra’s deep and penetrating deconstruction of the events unfolding down in Louisiana? Manage to catch Marianne Williamson’s fiery and inspired sermon she gave the other day regarding the degradation of the environment and loss of not just jobs, but an entire culture? Well, if you happened to miss all of that great wisdom and profound examination of corporate arrogance, greed and complicity flowing down from the font of their exalted perch as our spiritual leaders, don’t feel bad, it’s because they haven’t uttered a single word on the subject. Yep. They’re mum. As usual. Just like the silence they indulged in when the economy went down in a heap and the banksters were bailed out by you and me. Not a single, solitary word, because that was our reality and not theirs. When it comes to the big ticket items of our time, they are mute witnesses to the greatest crimes of the century.

Why?

As we move deeper in the chironic swirl of Pisces, the whirlpool that sucks the illusion right out the spiritual leader paradigm, we leave behind the concept of enlightened beings thinking, acting and speaking for us. It’s the end of an era people. We’ve reached far too much critical mass and the tipping point of awareness is about to go quantum. Their days and usefulness are numbered. Oh sure, they may lead a few thousand people on a cosmic karaoke night to ascension, wherever that ascended plane might be, but in actuality, many of us are awakening due to the deep pain our planet is suffering and when something is wounded, our natural inclination as a species/pisces is to reach out and help, to assist and comfort. There is a blood pact we have with life and crisis awakens a priori experience in the chambers of our DNA; an alarm, a cry, a plea, a blast of a trumpet from an angel within. This is the true activation of Chiron in Pisces; spiritual crisis.

However, the clarion call is not enough. No, we must have the courage and fortitude to be able to make a stand for this blue and white pearl, whirling through space and that energy is coming.

With Jupiter and Uranus shifting into Aries at month’s end, the activation of will, will take place. The ability to spontaneously respond to a situation, without permission or the enlightened direction of spiritual leaders can spontaneously manifest in all of our lives. As Uranus/Jupiter moves into Aries, it will signal the great awakening and even greater accountability on our part. Do you need to know what to do? Nope. The time will come and the urge to act/be will arise for each of us. Just do your very best to stay healthy and stay in love. You’ll know, when the knowing is ripe.

The Shadow Of Uranus In Aries

While the will of the individual is stirred, not shaken, the intensity of Uranus in Aries is already starting to reverberate. Tensions are mounting in Korea and Ill Kim is rattling sabers at South Korea. Looks like they might be going to war. Not good. Not good at all. Apart from the fact that there will be a lot of damage, destruction, death, more horror, it will also impact the economy in a huge way if this goes down the way it’s looking. South Korea is a major manufacturing hub and provides The US with not just goods like TV’s and cars, but the distribution chain for those products, here in The US will be deeply affected. Trucks, ships, stores, you name it. They’ll take a massive blow if this escalates and the economy will as well.

A few weeks back, my pal, Dennis Whitney sent me some info about the TransOceanic rig being attacked by a North Korean min-sub as payback for the sinking of a North Korean ship by South Korea. The TransOceanic rig was built by Hyundai. It came through Sorcha Faal, who is not deemed a trustworthy source by many in the exo-political world, and yet, here we are, seemingly on the brink of war with North and South Korea ready to go at it. It’s interesting to note that we are in Gemini, the sign of the twins and The Sun is squaring Chiron just moving into a four degree orb. The twins are North and South Korea and they are squaring off, potentially over a deeply chronic event. If they can stem the tide with these two countries over the next few days, both the square and the tension will lessen to a degree, until we get closer to the mega-cross at the end of June. Hold on kids, as we approach the shift of Uranus and Jupiter, we’ll be experiencing a bit of turbulence. This could get a little bumpy.

Is Kim Jong Ill really alive?

sagittariusFrom root to fruit.

Wanna know how powerful the Full Moon is? All night, all my kid did was moan about staying at his Mom’s place. If you don’t know much about me, his mother and I are separated. We have our individual nights with him. Las night was mine. Around 4pm he started politicking hard abut sleeping at his mother’s house. We try not to indulge these occasional moments, and I was doing everything in my power to give her the night off. I had him call her once she got off work and he went into full metal sadness mode. How could she resist? Then I thought about it. My ex has her Moon in Gemini, and the power of the moon was being shot through her natal moon like a prism of liquid light that my son was tracking in the space of his heart. Coincidentally, my son and I both have Libra Moons, separated by just a few degrees. I have also been the primary stay-at-home parent for most of his five + years. But tonight, that little turtle was trundling back to the sea, his amniotic source. His beginning. Ahhhhh, the moon.

I was trying to chat with Lynda Hill on FB last night as well and we managed to peck out a few sentences about Tiger Woods and his drama. We both saw major trouble ahead for Woods, including custody battles (Lynda) and more allegations (me). By the way, can we start calling Dawn Uchitel, “Dawn Ubchitel-it-all?” In any event, we were discussing Tiger’s Sag Moon and how both his mother (who must be mortified) and Elin are both from foreign countries. Lynda quickly pointed out to me that the Sabian Symbol for Tiger’s Moon is ” A Group Of Immigrants As They Fulfill The Requirements Of Entrance Into The New Country.” Damn, Lynda is good. She also quickly chimed in with the fact that The Sag Sun will hit Tiger’s natal Neptune today. Watch out! The dam is going to burst! I feel bad for him in a way, but I think I might take on his problems for a cool billion. Right now, it’s Tiger’s soul on patrol, and it’s dissembling the extraneous matter, so that Tiger can get closer to the source. Despite the fact that he has a billion dollar cushion, this is a major hit for a man that had seemed up to this point unflappable and wrinkle free.

But what about you? What does the future hold for you? Will you rise to meet the tide or be sucked under the foamy churn? Let’s find out? Shall we? Read the rest of this entry »

TigerWoods_450x400Razors edge? Naked truth?

So I hate it when people have to have the “I-told-you-so” moment, but since I don’t have a publicist and these moments are sort of rare for me, I have to have my own “told-you-so” declaration.

Since my first post on the Woods affair, the dam has burst, Tiger has admitted to multiple affairs and he did it on the Full Moon in Gemini, as it began to light up his natal Moon in Sag (opposition) and his natal Mars in Gemini (conjunct). Here is what Tiger had to say on the advent of the Full Moon.

“I have not been true to my values and the behavior my family deserves,” Woods said on his website. “I am not without faults and I am far short of perfect. I am dealing with my behavior and personal failings behind closed doors with my family. Those feelings should be shared by us alone.”

In addition to the Uchitel affair, a cocktail waitress in LA by the name of Jaimie Grubbs (bad last name for this sort of thing) has now surfaced. Here is what I said in the first post.

“With Venus in Scorpio in the third house, there is a side to Tiger that many people are not aware of. This alignment is, rather, well, slightly kinky and would suggest that someone like Woods with this angle could very well be into power role playing during sex and might even enjoy being on the submissive end of things at times. I also doubt that this would be the first time that a person with this alignment would have done this. Venus in Scorpio, third house? This is a guy that needs variety.

Now do I enjoy playing the role of tabloid astrologer? Not really. But with the Moon in Gemini, I have to bow to it’s rather local effect, than jousting with the windmills of the grand superstructures.

This is far from over with Tiger and in fact, his path towards liberation and authenticity have only just begun.

rxActivating duality.

I closed my last post with this:

“If Team Obama is following the doctrine of Alinsky, by the book, then there is another layer to what’s happening. Here is another bon mot from Alinksy; “The price of a successful attack is a constructive alternative.” Is Obama and The DC gang pushing hard so that when they unveil the next iteration of healthcare reform, one that they probably already have cooked up, that the reflexive force exerted upon them by the masses will be successfully dissipated as a solution in a classically Hegellian fashion arrives on time. just like magic? It had better, because one of Alinsky’s other guiding principles talks about the importance of time and timing; “A tactic that drags on too long becomes a drag.”

Today we get this out of Washington;

” Bowing to Republican pressure and an uneasy public, President Barack Obama’s administration signaled Sunday it is ready to abandon the idea of giving Americans the option of government-run insurance as part of a new health care system.

Facing mounting opposition to the overhaul, administration officials left open the chance for a compromise with Republicans that would include health insurance cooperatives instead of a government-run plan. Such a concession probably would enrage Obama’s liberal supporters but could deliver a much-needed victory on a top domestic priority opposed by GOP lawmakers.” Yahoo.

Am I psychic? Or am I just a good study of the dynamic at play? But this isn’t about me. The real question is; Is if this was the original plan to begin with? Was all the sturm and drang just an Alinsky inspired aikido move to set up the next layer that was already waiting in the wings? Is this a compromise between Saturn and Uranus?

My astro blogging pal, Elsa P, has mentioned that Obama has an astrologer on staff (a woman). Was she responsible for the announcement falling on a Sunday? If so, what would be the trigger? I think it has something with the Moon in Gemini conjuncting Mars in the same sign, as well as The US Mars in Gemini at 21 degrees. If there were ever a time to make an announcement along these lines, one that would have a dual nature or dual meaning to it’s purpose, now would be that time, as Mars and the Moon, normally tempestuous bed mates, could actually find some form of conciliation if the intent was to insert another layer into the dialog, one that assumes the stance of some form of capitulation, when in actuality was much closer to the desired effect in the first place.

If we look into the heart of he Sabian Symbol for 21 Gemini, we get not just a healthy glimpse into the soul of American debate, but one that reflects the current tumult surrounding healthcare.

A tumultuous labor demonstration.

The definition as put forth by Dane Rudhyar is enlightening to say the least:

“The mass of men have been aroused by mental images, slogans and an appetite for the abundance the “ruling class” enjoys.” Rudhyar goes onto add that, “The organic functions make their collective demands upon the lordly intellect. The stage may be set for the kind of “revolution” we call “psychoneurosis.” Was this announcement today, especially as the Moon, softened the energies of Mars, yet supported the inherent duality of the day’s energy triggered by Obama’s star watcher? Was is it done to diffuse the demands of the collective while running a second track towards it’s desired destination? All very plausible when the twins are activated in the service of duality, multiplicity, and a mirror held up to polarized public. It becomes a reflection of itself, providing the simulacra of a real event, while the nexus of true intention flies under the radar, unsuspected and cloaked in the spirit of compromise.

prince_michael
The King of Pop And The Prince Of Cherry Poppin’.

More, more Michael Jackson, MJ 24/7. The media is now officially feasting on the emaciated corpse of his legacy. We’re talking about a news cycle that will be long and deep. Get used to it. Court battles, rumor, intrigue, innuendo, biographies, TV specials, you name it. Michael Jackson’s death and life will hang like a skin-bleached specter over lives throughout the summer and beyond (side note, the MJ suicide count is up to ten now).

But there will be a backlash when Uranus goes retrograde and opposes Saturn in Virgo one last time. People will have had enough and the public debate will then turn to the ethics of piling on the King Of Pop. Once Uranus slams it into reverse and Saturn plods forward towards their fated conjunction, the media will cannibalize themselves. They’ll eat until there’s nothing left and then they’ll eat each other. Now that’s going to be some good viewing.

Meanwhile, The Big O admin will put the petal to the metal on health care reform, the clean waters act, the anti-hate speech bill, etc, as quickly as possible to capitalize on the feeding frenzy of Michael and who knows who else. By the way, has anyone seen Joe Biden lately?

I did my post on Michael and I’ll do one more unless it’s vital that I stay with the topic of his life and death.

I’m fascinated with the parallels between Michael and Prince. In fact Michael even named a son after the purple one. Michael and Prince occupy the esoteric duality of Mercury. Michael being the Virgo and Prince, Gemini. Both had tempestuous relationships with their respective fathers and both rose to fame at roughly the same time, but they couldn’t have been more different. Read the rest of this entry »

artbonesshirtThe Art Of Darkness?

My first experience with Art Bell came on a trip down from Seattle to California, during that long stretch from Shasta, through the torrid middle of the state. I caught the faint and crackling signal just outside of Shasta and followed it intently, all the way to Oakland, where I was living. It was during Bell’s Sunday night program, “Dreamland” named for the semi-secret base, also known as Area 51, just down the road from Bell’s home and home studio in Parhump, Nevada.

On that particular show, Bell had on Preston Nichols and Al Bielek, two rather fascinating, if eccentric participants in the continuum of The Philadelphia Experiment and The Montauk project.

I sat riveted for literally hundreds of miles as Nichols and Bieleck not only recounted on what took place on The USS Eldridge in Philadelphia harbor, that fateful day, on October 28th, 1943, but also where two of the time travelers arrived in Montauk, Long Island, where they were supposedly being waited upon by researchers on the other end. The semi-popular, yet often ridiculous TV series, “The Time Tunnel” was based on this, as was the movie, “The Philadelphia Experiment” by John Carpenter. Bielek claims to be the love survivor of the experiment, but to make matters even more clouded and occluded, Bielek has another personality known as “Ed Cameron” who was deeply involved in Montauk.

Nichols for his part, claims to be a scientist that worked at Montauk (now shut down) and was talking about what they did at Montauk, which included everything from time travel. to space jumping (mostly to mars) to creating a race of highly trained, super assassins ala Jason Bourne, known as “The Montauk Boys” and casual commerce with alien species on frequent basis. This was my first dose of Art Bell.

Someone at Bell’s network saw the numbers spike whenever Bell touched on the paranormal, every Sunday night, so they decided to make Art the late-night-mage of all things paranormal. He ditched his more mainstream, politics driven show for a full time go at things that go bump in the night.

Unable to pick up Bell in The Bay Area, I used to dial him in from a station in Reno, or San Antonio, which made the program even slightly more exotic, picking up the waves of transmission from somewhere as out there as the programming itself.

In addition to people like Nichols and Bielek, Bell would feature the who’s who of the UFO circuit, everyone from Bob Lazar, to John Lear, to Stan Friedman, You never knew if their stories were real or some sort of fabrication or misdirection, but that was half the fun of listening to Bell. He also pitched products like smoked salmon and crank radios (now isn’t that a funny little aside?), which gave the show a feel that was more 50’s than 90’s. Indeed, the height of Bell’s popularity took place just before the internet broke through to mainstream use. Late at night, Bell was in some ways the radio equivalent of the internet for the strange and unexplained. Read the rest of this entry »

angelsThe face of Gemini’s duality on display.

I wish Stanley Kubrick could have lived another ten years, so that he could have directed at least one of Dan Brown’s illuminating works of fiction. Kubrick would have turned “Angels and Demons” into something so unnerving that there wouldn’t have been any chance to tie a neat bow on it’s ending like the imminently agreeable, Ronnie Howard, who has been rumored to have risen quickly up the Masonic chain of command. I know it’s a little tacky, but Howard usually casts his lesser known and rumored scientologist brother, Clint in his films, but alas he was AOL. The least he could have done was cast him as some sort of Rahphelite statuary that resembles a gargoyle. Okay, I know it’s a cheap shot, but Brown’s book deserved better than the company hatchet job performed on it by Opie. If you really want to to have a look at the real deal regarding secret societies, I would advise having another go at “Eyes Wide Shut,” Kubrick’s masterpiece and expose of sex rituals, programmed slaves and dark orders. Rumor has it that Kubrick got a little too close to the truth and got his Directors Guild card punched for good. There’s some pretty decent analysis on the web regarding “Eyes Wide Shut” and programming. But back to the subject at hand.

eyesAngels and Demons represents duality, a quality often associated with Gemini. It’s about good and evil, light and dark, catholic versus illuminist, matter vs anti-matter, angels vs demons. You get the picture. From the checkerboard tiled floor in the pivotal assassination scene in “The Manchurian Candidate” to the larger than life chessboard, with human pieces in “The Prisoner” duality plays a huge role in the occult symbolism of the esoteric intelligencia. It represents Hegellian dialectic (problem/solution/synthesis), but also the demarcation of humanity apart from God. “Angels and Demons” is rife with this sort of thematic memes, but the real, dualistic throwdown comes between science and faith and illuminati vs catholic church (at least on the surface). Duality is thy name!

(Editors note) I broke out this interview with Barry Adamson back in 1998. I was in New York and did the Q & A at the headquarters of Mute Records. Barry was on the other end of the phone, in his home in London. It was a crazy time for me in NYC. It was like I had stepped into an alternate dimension and strange phenomenon was unfolding around me on a moment-to-moment basis. I won’t go into details here, but I do refer to it cryptically in the intro.

Barry Adamson is one of the most talented musicians and artists you’ve probably never heard of. He played with Magazine and Nick Cave and The Bad Seeds and then carved out a brilliant solo career, that in many respects, surpassed that of both Howard Devoto and Nick Cave. Barry Adamson also happens to be a Gemini and it is indeed, his birthday today. If one delves down into the canon of his recording career, they can see the tell tale signs of duality all over the place. In the interview, we really focused on topics like; “As above, so below,” “Light and dark,” and “Good and bad.” All, tasty topics for any Gemini. This interview originally appeared on Pete Darling’s Art-Damage site. Pete is an uber-talented friend and is one of those people who could have easily been a rock star if he’d wanted to do the wrong drugs and screw the right people. Here’s me and Barry.

New York; Summer of 98′ things are falling all around me–like something out of a Fortean tale of misplaced gravity. Everywhere I go the sky is descending. And then the numbers start coming; sixes and nines, variables and their fated triple-digit-deity. I escape the crash and tumult for a few moments ducking into the offices of Mute Records. I’m here to talk to Barry Adamson, the former Magazine and Bad Seed Bass Player, on the phone from his London home. On solo terms, he’s become known for noirish soundtrack work such as “Soul Murder”, “The Negro Inside”, “Moss Side Story” and the brilliant “Oedipus Schmedipus.” His record of the moment is, “As Above, So Below” (Mute) and with Adamson, the cradle of potential is vast in it’s meaning. Of mixed racial origin, he embraces contrasting cosmologies and diverse scales; polyrhythms and whitenoise, Nile gods and Atlantic sea wardens; demonic muses and angelic hosts. As heaven crashes around me, Barry’s trying to reconcile it all in his music. From New York to London, we attempt to ground the dipole in extremis for a Trans-Atlantic free-exchange of shadow and light.

RP: What has the response been in terms of the British Press and some of the other magazines towards your newest work and how that compares with some of your earlier stuff?

BA: I think its generally been quite favorable. There is always the odd fellow that doesn’t get it really. They’re off on their own sort of thing. I think generally what has happened- I guess with each album I kind of raise my profile a little bit more, getting to the hearts and minds (if you like) of the ever-listening public. In that way it has been a success. I think the feedback has been encouraging. I think this album and the Oedipus album particularly has kind of moved the goalposts into a place more accessible for people; they can get what’s going on and they seem to enjoy what’s going on, which is always encouraging for me. Definitely the step forward in a way that I hope to be. I am pleased with the way its gone.

RP: The title of the record As Above, So Below: It reminds me of Heraclitus.

BA: What’s that?

RP: Heraclitus was a Greek philosopher. His whole contention was above so below- like it is in Heaven as it is on Earth. So there is a metaphysical connotation there. But it also to me reminds me of “as above so below”: as above the waist so below the waist.

BA: That’s interesting. I never thought of that. I kind of did have a little subtle idea about that: above the waist, also below. I guess for me, it is that thing as in Heaven, so shall it be on Earth, and perhaps even lower. I think that you can’t have one without the other. Just that whole faith, love and fear… and all those things have ramifications in the world as well and that’s what makes man as a sensor of the whole cosmos-type thing as well. I think for me its about balance as well: as above so below and therefore stepping out into the world is like okay about everything. I think that was kind of the establishing factor of where to go from in terms of exploring Heaven and Hell in the confines of the record, if it’s possible.

RP: Are you familiar of the material of William Blake?

BA: Only in passing, do you know what I mean. I am not really in a studious way at all. Of course a picture comes to mind (I don’t know the name of course) of the guy pointing down from above?

RP: With the Sun. Yeah.

BA: Very powerful image.

RP: It seems like in your work that there is a definite sort of a psycho-analytical yoga or work-out.

BA: I think it is. I think I could realize that one could pretty much exorcise and exercise various- you know, whatever it may be, if you’re troubled you could put those troubles into a song. Or what you’ve experienced you may want to pass that information on.

RP: How does the cathartic process of your work effect you? For instance, do you feel more catharsis after you’ve finished a certain piece or after you’ve created a whole piece?
